“NENEBIRD is my first recording project: 10 tracks balancing between Indie pop and grungy punk rock, with a taste of French Chanson—an amalgamation of all my influences growing up in the 90’s in Montreal. I grew up having to paint my own identify with no template in hand, just taking in what I loved and appropriating each stroke from the various cultural references around me. My friends and foes; the songs in this project are a lot about them and their influence on me as we go along my self-searching journey. It made sense to me at the start of the project that it would be a band, a group effort; doing what I love with the people that I love… but life happens and bands fall apart sometimes. My friends are still my friends, but I’ve to come to the realization that this project had always been mine to cherish and bring to life on my own. “
